Recent Completion of PS License Audit Procedures Marks Another Step in the Company's Expansion into Specialized LPG Services

MANILA, Philippines - August 2026 - Mechatrends Contractors Corporation continues to expand its capabilities in the LPG industry with the introduction of its new LPG Cylinder Requalification, Repair, and Maintenance business line.

As part of the company's preparations to formally enter this specialized service, Mechatrends has recently completed the PS License audit procedures for its LPG cylinder requalification and repair operations.

The milestone represents an important step in the company's commitment to establishing a properly controlled, standards-based, and professionally managed facility dedicated to the inspection, requalification, repair, and continued safe use of LPG cylinders.

Expanding Beyond Fabrication and Construction

The new business line builds naturally on Mechatrends' more than three decades of experience in LPG facilities, pressure vessels, storage tanks, mechanical fabrication, piping systems, and industrial construction.

With its established technical organization, fabrication facilities, engineering resources, and experience in the LPG and petroleum sectors, the company is now extending its capabilities further downstream into the life-cycle management of LPG cylinders.

The new service offering is intended to cover LPG cylinder inspection, requalification, repair, and related maintenance activities, providing LPG industry participants with an additional source of specialized technical services.

The expansion is particularly significant as LPG cylinder requalification and repair are subject to mandatory product certification requirements administered through the Department of Trade and Industry – Bureau of Philippine Standards (DTI-BPS). Under the current regulatory framework, LPG cylinder requalification is covered by PNS 03-2:2020, while repair of LPG steel cylinders is covered by PNS 03-3:2020.

A Standards-Driven Approach

The completion of the PS License audit procedures demonstrates Mechatrends' commitment to meeting the applicable regulatory and technical requirements governing this specialized field.

DTI-BPS states that the Philippine Standard (PS) Quality Certification Mark scheme applies to local LPG cylinder repairers and requalifiers, with the relevant Philippine National Standards used to verify product conformity.

For Mechatrends, the process has involved preparing the necessary systems, procedures, equipment, documentation, and operational controls required for the new business line.

The company views these requirements not simply as regulatory obligations, but as essential elements in building a service operation where safety, traceability, quality control, technical competence, and consistency are fundamental.

Leveraging Mechatrends' LPG Expertise

The new cylinder requalification and repair operation complements Mechatrends' existing LPG capabilities, which include:

  • LPG pressure vessel and storage tank fabrication
  • LPG storage and refilling facilities
  • LPG filling carousel systems
  • Process and product piping
  • Mechanical fabrication
  • LPG equipment installation, repair, and maintenance
  • Pressure vessel fabrication
  • ASME tank fabrication
  • LPG transport equipment
  • LPG cylinder requalification and repair

By bringing these capabilities together, Mechatrends aims to provide a more comprehensive range of technical services to LPG distributors, operators, industrial users, and other industry participants.

Another Milestone in Mechatrends' Continuing Growth

The launch of the LPG cylinder requalification and repair business comes at an important stage in Mechatrends' continuing expansion. The new LPG cylinder business also complements Mechatrends' strategic objective of developing specialized, vertically integrated services for the LPG and petroleum industries.

Building a Safer and More Reliable LPG Industry

For Mechatrends, entering the cylinder requalification and repair sector is more than simply adding another product line. It is an opportunity to contribute to the safe and responsible continued use of LPG cylinders through professionally managed inspection, requalification, repair, and maintenance services.

As the company moves toward the next stage of its PS certification process, Mechatrends remains committed to establishing an operation grounded in safety, quality, regulatory compliance, technical excellence, and customer service.

For Mr. Papa - “This new business line is a natural extension of our experience in the LPG industry. We have been involved in LPG facilities, pressure vessels, storage tanks, fabrication, installation, and maintenance for many years. Cylinder requalification and repair allow us to further apply that experience in an area where safety and technical discipline are especially important.”

The completion of the PS License audit procedures marks another important step in Mechatrends Contractors Corporation's continuing transformation into a more comprehensive LPG and industrial services organization.

From its beginnings in 1992 to its recent PCAB AAAA achievement and expansion into LPG cylinder requalification and repair, Mechatrends continues to invest in people, facilities, technology, systems, and specialized capabilities.

The company looks forward to bringing this new service to the market and to continuing its role as a trusted engineering, fabrication, construction, and specialized LPG services partner.

Another capability. Another milestone. Another step toward a safer, stronger, and more comprehensive LPG service industry.
